Location Background:
Caerleon [a.k.a. Isca] is known for its Roman amphitheatre and legionary fort built circa 74 or 75 C.E.
Scouting Background:
We went to Caerleon to collect information on Roman forts, the history of the Roman Conquest of Wales, costumes, and to recce possible filming locations for Bloodthirsty & Dangerous. To our complete surprise, and pleasure, was that we found a Roman Era re-inaction in progress, the remains of a Roman fort, and a small but excellent Roman Legionary Museum.
(Video/images of the Roman Army taken with the kind permission of the "Ermine Street Guard" Roman re-inactors).
