Scouting Wiltshire
Wiltshire was originally scouted for the screenplay Antimatter In My Soup, though I got the idea that it would also be a great location for the sequel to Bloodthirsty and Dangerous -- Bloodthirsty and Dangerous: The Source.
Please keep in mind that the beginning and ending of Antimatter In My Soup was specifically written around the Avebury/Silbury Hill area. However, I also have the character of Brad Holt travelling to other sites preceeding his visit to Avebury, when he finally meets his Mysterious Woman. One of the sites he stops off at is, of course, the world-famous Stonehenge (see map below).
But please remember, there are far more standing stone sites that we never even got to that may be less popular and less easily accessable; but those sites also have excellent standing stone monuments and are great for the reason that they're hardly ever used. If you want a location that's not been seen frequently, to add to the mystique of your film, check out those other sites. Our screenplay, however, specifically called for the Avebury Henge.
For more information on these and other stone monument sites, you may contact Mark Gladwyn or Sara Bayliss at the Southern Screen Commission -- they were a great help when we needed contacts and other information for the Avebury/Silbury Hill sites.
